It was founded in 1959 by Oskar and Ursula Ida Lapp. Today, Matthias Lapp leads the family enterprise in the third generation. Lapp Cables is now a globally active company with 51 sales subsidiaries and 100 representatives around the globe. Last year, 4,650 employees generated a turnover of 1,222 million euros.

The company is known for short delivery times and deliveries even the farthest places. They also do not limit themselves to supplying standard products. On request, individual solutions are developed in close connection with customers. Reference projects of Lapp Solar Cables

In 2020, Lapp Solar Cables South Africa is involved in the construction of one of the largest photovoltaic plants in Africa. Approximately 2.3 million meters of cable from Lapp Solar Cables will be installed here, which will have to work reliably under extreme environmental conditions.
In 2015, Lapp Solar Cables was responsible for the connection technology for the German Pavilion at the Expo in Milan. The use of organic photovoltaics was demonstrated there. This required special connection techniques, which were supplied and installed by Lapp.
