Project built and operated by TRITEC-Intervento, for Alto de Til Til Electric Company, formed by Ecom Energía, and Minera San Pedro, consisting of a photovoltaic solar farm, built under the Small Distributed Generation Means (PMGD) programme and under the Shared Facilities modality. The project is located in the municipality of Til Til, within the San Pedro mine. It is a 3 MW installed capacity photovoltaic solar plant, with a total investment of more than US $2.8 million and more than 8,000 monocrystalline modules installed. The big challenge in this project was the location of the plant. It is located at an altitude of over 1000 metres, within the mining area, with difficult access, road improvements, relocation of existing transmission lines and meeting a high standard of mining operations. This project is very striking and credible to replicate as it is a split installation of self-consumption and feeding into the grid, the mining company consumes what it needs and when there is no consumption it feeds it into the grid, about 60% is consumed by the slaughter and the remaining 40% is fed into the electrical system for marketing. It is a non-invasive intervention that makes it possible to go directly to the consumption poles, thus generating its own clean and economic energy. This plant emits 2,400 tonnes of CO2 per year and has the capacity to produce the required energy for the needs of the entire Til Til community.
