As part of the public solar roof programme, TRITEC-Intervento was awarded the contract to build a 280 kWp photovoltaic system on the Hospital Regional Rancagua building. This is the largest photovoltaic solar plant built under the programme and is already in operation. This photovoltaic solar plant has the special feature of being a self-consumption system, i.e. without feeding energy into the grid. The photovoltaic system will produce about 470 MWh of energy per year. In this way, the hospital covers a large part of its energy needs with clean and sustainable energy produced on its own roof, reducing the consumption of the grid and therefore CO2 emissions, avoiding the emission of 160 tonnes of CO2 per year. With the implementation of this solar project, the community of Rancagua will benefit the most, as the hospital will be prepared for any electrical emergency.
