Generator connection box (GAK)

The generator connection box, or GAK for short (also known as PV sets), is used to connect a PV system to the power grid of an object. The strings run together in the GAK in the form of cables and then usually continue towards the inverter. The GAK mainly contains fuse elements that protect against overvoltage, e.g. in the event of lightning strikes in the vicinity. They protect the PV modules themselves and also the inverter.
