Stockport Housing Association saves 922 tonnes of carbon with PV installation
Stockport Homes Ltd has brought clean energy to the residents of its housing association by installing 2,000 household solarPV kits using time and cost-saving mounting system technology from TRITEC .
This large-scale solar energy project was part of the Stockport Homes Shine initiative to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions. The installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of all suitable housing association homes had the potential to provide much-needed free electricity to residents, while also providing Stockport Homes with a return on investment through the government's Feed-in Tariff scheme.
Reduction of the installation time
"Following a successful trial installation, 2,000 2kW residential solarPV kits have been installed in Stockport Homes' housing stock," comments Rupert Higgin, Managing Director of The Green Electrician Group. "cInstallation time has been greatly reduced by GreenKit's prefabricated PV kits and cutting-edge technology from companies such as TRITEC ."
