The collective term renewable energies covers all those types of energy production that are rapidly renewable or inexhaustibly available. In addition to the best-known representatives of solar and wind energy and hydropower, they also include geothermal energy, ocean energy and bioenergy. All renewable energies are important building blocks in the energy transition.
