Autarky

Autarky is generally understood to mean independence from something through self-sufficiency. In connection with PV systems, this means the independence of an energy consumer from the electricity grid. The degree of self-sufficiency determines whether a consumer is completely or only partially independent. This is not to be confused with the self-consumption percentage. With an electricity consumption of 3,800 kWh per year, at least the same amount would have to be produced and used by the consumer in order to be completely independent of the electricity grid.
