Feed-in meter

If operators of a photovoltaic system want to feed electricity into the public grid, they need a feed-in meter. In most buildings, this supplements the supply meter, which measures the amount of electricity drawn from the public grid. However, there are also bidirectional meters that combine metering for feed-in and demand in one device.

The feed-in tar iff per kilowatt hour can only be paid if exact figures on the actual feed-in are available. You can buy feed-in meters yourself or rent them from the grid
from thegrid operator in return for a down payment. It must be calibrated regularly.
