Global radiation

Global radiation is the total solar radiation that falls on a horizontal surface. It is made up of direct radiation and diffuse radiation. Global radiation can be measured with a pyranometer. As a general rule, the radiation is stronger at midday than in the morning and evening, and it is stronger in summer than in winter. In addition, the closer you are to the equator, the stronger the global radiation. For example, Germany has an annual value of 900-1200 kWh/m2 of global radiation, while in Spain it is around 2000 kWh/m2.
