Inverter

With an inverter, direct current is converted to alternating current. This works the other way round with a so-called rectifier. However, solar cells produce direct current, while the electricity in the public grid is transported as alternating current and also comes out of our sockets in this way. In a photovoltaic system, the inverter ensures that the direct current is converted so that it can be fed into the grid or used directly in the building.
