Trend photovoltaic systems on large flat roofs

Greatest possible yield thanks to optimal mounting system

Large flat roofs on commercial and industrial buildings can be optimally used for high-yield solar power generation - as long as the special features of the flat roof construction are taken into account. For a particularly efficient elevation of solar modules, TRITEC offers an optimal solution with the new mounting system TRI-STAND Aero.

Thanks to its aerodynamically optimised shape, TRI-STAND Aero offers significant advantages in terms of loads and costs for a photovoltaic system. "The new mounting system puts significantly less load on roofs than conventional module stands," as TRITEC development engineer Bernd Hertter explains, "compared to a conventional flat-roof elevation, we need at least 50% less ballast when mounting the TRI-STAND Aero."

Centrepiece TS-F Angle

The back of the modules is clad with a sheet of metal that on the one hand reduces the dynamic pressure and at the same time prevents wind pressure on the underside of the modules. The centrepiece is the newly developed TS-F bracket. It is used to fasten the module to the transverse lower profiles and the vertical profiles supporting the rear side. This angle eliminates the need for the diagonally running profile - and as a consequence also material costs. Instead, the module is screwed directly to the fixing holes. As an additional service, the angle elements are delivered pre-assembled.

Less shading, more performance

Because the PV modules are elevated at an angle of 20 degrees, the shading distances are reduced and the output/m2 is increased. The roof cladding remains intact when the TRI-STAND Aero system is installed. The system is designed for modules with a width of 790 - 810 mm, or 990 - 1010 mm. The modules of these performance classes correspond to the current state of the art and, with minor deviations, all have the same dimensions. The required rear panels are cut to these dimensions. In this way, customers save on expensive custom-made products and instead benefit from an efficient and affordable product.

Proven quality, successful assembly

As with all its products,TRITEC guarantees tested quality and safety for TRI-STAND Aero. The new substructure has passed the wind tunnel test at Wacker Ingenieure and the mechanical load test at TÜV Rheinland. At the end of 2011, a PV system with around 420 kWp was installed on the SchwörerHaus production building in Hohenstein-Oberstetten. SchwörerHaus KG is one of the leading prefabricated house manufacturers in Europe. In 2011, the company was included in the group of climate protection companies for its special achievements in environmental protection, "above all because of the high proportion of renewable energies in production operations and the continuous orientation of products towards energy efficiency", as Carola Kochner, press spokesperson, adds.

Partner in efficiency

"For the installation of the 1740 KD245GH-2YB modules, we deliberately relied on the PV expertise of TRITEC in order to achieve the best possible yield in the long term," says Dr. Stefan Wiebach from KYOCERA Fineceramics GmbH, the general contractor responsible for the project. TRITEC has been in partnership with the manufacturer of high-quality solar modules for over 20 years. The assembly company Solar Ebner from Weissach, also a long-standing project partner of TRITEC, sees the advantages of the new assembly system primarily in the time savings: "We are thrilled with TRISTAND Aero, the good handling of the materials allows for easy and quick assembly."

It doesn't get more efficient than this

Incidentally, all mounting systems from TRITEC can be planned and designed quickly and intuitively with the smart TRI-DESIGN design software. This makes it easy to increase efficiency - from the smallest to the largest solar installation.
