Insertion profile TS – The aluminium profile

The insertion profile TS of the TRI-STAND mounting system allows the easy, quick and thus efficient installation of all popular framed solar modules. After the insertion of the modules into the aluminium profile, the modules are held in place by their own weight and friction. The photovoltaic modules do not need to be screwed in.

Universal profiles UP-L / UP-LS – The base profiles

The universal profiles UP-L and UP-LS are the basic profiles of the TRI-STAND mounting system. The universal profile UP-L is used for standard systems, UP-LS for roof-hooks with side connection. The revolutionary design of the universal profiles allows for two types of installation: the easy to install insertion system with cross bracing and the insertion profile TS or the cost-effective clip system with middle and end clips. – The choice is yours.

SafeClick SC – The secure connector

SafeClicks connect the universal profiles of the TRI-STAND mounting system securely and easily with its insertion profiles. The practical design of the SafeClick allows easy installation by simply clicking in the insertion profiles. Drilling is not necessary.

Middle rail TS-M – The optimal reinforcement

In the case of vertical module insertion and acceptance of pressures of more than 2400 N/m², some module manufacturers specify the use of a middle support. The TRI-STAND middle rail TS-M is specifically designed for the mounting system and the ideal support for all popular modules.

Roof hooks

For the assembly of substructures first fastenings must be installed at the appropriate grid spacings. On tiled roofs, the roof hooks are attached either directly to the rafter or to distance battens above the rafter. Roof hooks are available for almost any type of tile and are secured by means of seating bolts.

Roof fold clamps

In the case of plate fold roofs, the clamps are installed directly at the fold. The clamps consist of two stainless steel metal sheets, which are bolted together. The roof fold clamps are available in a round version, especially for Kalzip roofs. The substructure can be mounted on the clamps, without disturbing the roof surface.

Hanger bolts

For the installation on a corrugated roof type, the existing screws are replaced by hanger bolts. This secures the corrugated roof, and at the same time the hanger bolts can be used for the installation of the substructure. This provides the base for the installation with a minimum of time and effort.

Renosol plates

For flat roofs, generally Renosol plates are used. The gravel is removed from the required flat roof area, a protective mat or fleece is laid and the Renosol plate is placed on this. Then the TRI-STAND profiles UP and UP-S can be riveted directly to the Renosol plate. Finally, the Renosol plates must be weighed down again with gravel, in order to meet the static requirements.

FAQs TRI-STAND

The TS bending tool has two functions. First, it is used with the insertion system and keeps rails from wandering due to heat and cold. To this end, TS profiles are to be bevelled left and right of a SafeClick provided in the middle of the rail. For more information, see the TRI-STAND Installation Instructions. The second function of the bending tool is the removal of a clicked-in TS rail.

Basically, the manufacturer for the insertion system must release all solar modules because not every module is suitable in terms of frames and bearing capacity. In parallel, the modules must also be released by TRITEC since the drainage openings of module frames may not be covered by the TS profile. For the insertion system, horizontal module mounting is possible without any restrictions – with the corresponding manufacturer’s release. For the clip system, horizontal mounting is possible either in the two-layer clip system or by clipping on the short side of the module. Hanger bolts are used to fasten the sub-structure on shingle roofs. These bolts must be centrically set into the counter-battening. Asbestos-containing slates may only be processed if corresponding regulations are complied with. Special hanger bolts are available for the use of TRI-STAND on Eternit cement shingles.
With purlin roofs, the module is horizontally mounted for clip mounting, as a standard. Vertical mounting is possible either in the two-layer clip system or by clipping on the short side of the module. In the latter case, the corresponding manufacturer’s release is necessary. Additionally, be sure to select the correct hanger bolts by taking into account the required minimum dimensions of the fastening timber.
Carefully check the values for wind suction and pressure. Select as many fastening points on the roof as possible since the individual standing seams can accept relatively little load. For the clip system, horizontal mounting of the module is possible either in the two-layer clip system or by clipping on the short side of the module. In the latter case, module release by the manufacturer is necessary.
Measure precisely the module field by means of the drilling jig since the screws of the trapezoidal sheet roof may not collide with the SafeClick rivets. For the insertion system, horizontal module mounting is possible without any restrictions – with the corresponding manufacturer’s release. For the clip system, horizontal mounting is possible either in the two-layer clip system or by clipping on the short side of the module. In the latter case, the corresponding manufacturer’s release is also necessary.

For installations with the insertion system which are wider than 12m, the UP-C connector is tightened only on one side. Make sure that the universal profiles have at least 3mm clearance between them. For installations with the insertion system which are wider than 6m, the TS-C connector is tightened only on one side. Make sure that the TS insertion profiles have at least 3mm clearance between them. With the clip system, the universal profile must end after 12m at the most, and a new installation sections must be started.
