The Kostal Group
In 1912, the Kostal group of companies was founded in LŘdenscheid (Germany) and, today, it has a workforce of over 15,000 people at 38álocations worldwide. The corporate focus is on the development and production of technologically sophisticated electronic and electromechanical products for all worldwide leading motor vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers. Inverters from Kostal Solar Electronic thereby profit in terms of high quality and long-term security with regard to durability, service and guarantee.
Versatile application
With generator outputs of 4 to 20ákW, the three-phase inverters of the Kostal Piko series are convincing on the basis of their advantages in terms of flexibility, communications and handiness with regard to virtually any PV system. The standard integrated communications package enables – through numerous interfaces – system monitoring via the free company-own portal. Moreover, and in addition to their high reliability, the inverters provide ease of installation and a simplified country configuration.
New generation
Since 2014, the proven Piko family is being successively replaced by a new generation with enhanced flexibility, an extended range of features and improved efficiencies. For all devices (except for Piko 5.5 10A), parallel connection enables an increase of the maximum DC input current. Moreover, Kostal Piko 5.5 as well as Piko 15 / 17 / 20 are provided with three independent MPP trackers. All three-phase inverters have an integrated datalogger and web server for systems monitoring, as well as the communications interfaces Ether­net, RS­485, S0 and four analog inputs. External consumers (e.g. heat pump, infrared heating, air conditioning) can be directly controlled; dynamic control of effective power can be realized with the optional Piko BA sensor interface.
