Rennsteig Tools – Solar Tools for Cutting, Stripping and Crimping

Rennsteig Werkzeuge GmbH – this company in the community of Viernau/Thuringia (Germany) – follows a long tradition of hand tools development and manufacture in this region. Based on this experience the Rennsteig Werkzeuge GmbH, since 1991 a subsidiary of Knipex Werk, was founded.

Cable shears

The forged cable shears are universally deployable for cutting, stripping and peeling of cables with diameters of up to 50 mm². The sharp, hardened blades with precision grinding ensure easy and clean cuts, using only one hand. Crushing and distortion of cable conductors and insulation are avoided.

Insulation stripping pliers

These special pliers with length stop are perfect for high-quality and damage-free stripping and peeling. During stripping the cable is not crushed or distorted. The exchangeable knives allow working with cables of diameters of 1.5 – 6 mm² as standard. The compact design and good handling of these pliers rest on the ergonomical design of the two-component handles.

Crimping system pliers

The crimping pliers PEW 12 are recommended for crimping of solar contacts of almost all connector systems. Crimping can ensure the exact electrical connection without soldering. The excellent handling, easy exchange of the crimping insert bits and the possibility of adding a positioning aid are facts in favour of these crimping pliers.

Solar Kits

The practical plastic case of the Profi Kit contains cable shears, stripping pliers and crimping pliers (one of each). Thus the Profi Kit enables almost all jobs associated with cables and connectors. As standard, the Profi Kit is equipped with crimping insert bits and locators (positioning aids) for MC3, MC4 and Tyco. Additional insert bits are available as options. In addition, the Universal Kit contains installation tools for MC3 and MC4.
